How OwlAI works: the market traffic light method
Data as of Oct 12, 2026
What it is
OwlAI describes every day how the market stands against its own history. It uses public data from the Federal Reserve, the ECB, Eurostat, the OECD, the BIS, the SEC and other official and market sources.
How to read it
Each indicator is compared with its last 10 years: the healthiest third is "Good", the middle one "Fair" and the most strained "Poor". Every calculation uses only the data published by that day, never later data, and revised series are flagged. Themes combine several indicators and the verdict combines trend, volatility and credit. It makes no forecasts or investment recommendations.
Frequently asked questions
Does OwlAI recommend buying or selling?
No. It describes how the market stands against its history, with no forecasts or recommendations.
What does "no look-ahead" mean?
That each day's colour is computed only with the data already published that day. When a figure is revised later, it is stored as a new version.
Is it free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no ads.
